Chez Oskar Restaurant

When Chez Oskar opened in 1998, a culinary bohemia exploded on the back streets of Brooklyn. Inspired by New York's Harlem Renaissance and the neighborhood bistros of Paris, Oskar is a culinary counterculture to Manhattan's sterile eateries, cranking out fine French cuisine jazzed up by Brooklyn's cultural diversity. With 'El grand Chefe' Octavio Simancas' superb cooking (he's almost Français) Angelique Calmet's fine touch from service to brave wine selections (now She really really is French), and owner/artist Charlotta Janssen's severely colorful touch (slightly French due to Napoleon's army invading Bohemia) and a staff from all over 'le monde' to make you feel at home where ever you may be from, we dare to call ourselves: Le Funky French Bistro de Brooklyn.

Wheated Brooklyn

Wheated pizzeria opened July 2013, offering pizza, cocktails, wine and beer. It has a focused menu of a dozen or so pies, each named after a Brooklyn neighborhood, though the owner says the pizzas’ names don’t necessarily correlate with their ingredients. The owners, Kim McAdams and David Sheridan have varied, extensive work experience in graphic design, management, supervision and marketing. They decided to establish a one of a kind pizzeria in which they offer fantastic ambiance and “Brooklyn-Neapolitan” style pizza. BICNY provided this husband and wife a $489,650 loan, with a total project cost of $1,399,000. This made it possible for them to purchase an existing mixed-use building and have it undergo leasehold improvements for the new pizza restaurant and bar. Wheated has had incredible success and as a result has become one of the go to Brooklyn pizzerias. Because of its outstanding food and service Wheated can be found on multiple publications, including articles in New York Magazine and popular eatery websites such as Serious Eats
